WISH YOU'D SAID
(by Julia St. Pierre)

You walked in the room
Tall, lanky and cool
The way you tossed your hair back
You were the hippest kid in school
I can picture the place, I remember the time
You weren’t who I thought you were cuz I caught you in a lie

Now that we are out of time
The thoughts that circle round my mind
Become conversations in my head
Of all the things I wish you’d said
All the things I wish you said to me

You walked in the room
Tall, lanky and smooth
You were the one that I looked up to
There was nothing you couldn’t do
I can picture where we were, I remember the time
There were things you said you’d do for me and then later just deny

Now that we are out of time
The thoughts that circle round my mind
Become conversations in my head
Of all the things I wish you’d said
All the things I wish you said to me

Upright we all thought you were, but you had everybody fooled
Uptight is a far better word, not sure what changed in you

Now that we are out of time
The thoughts that circle round my mind
Become conversations in my head
Of all the things I wish you’d said
All the things I wish you said to me
All the things I wish you said to me

You walked in the room
Tall, lanky and cool
The way you tossed your hair back
You were the hippest kid in school

FINE RIDE WEST

(by Julia St. Pierre)

Left New Orleans for Houston when I was three, heading west on I-10
Grew up among the pines, happy as can be
No idea where life would lead back then
I left for Austin, I was 17, another ride west on I-10
Fell in love with the music scene
No idea where life would lead back then

All my life, going home meant I-10 west
There have been so many great sunsets
Where we’ll end up who can guess
But I love where I lay my head to rest
I’ve lived my life with no regrets, all in all
It’s been a fine ride west

Left Austin for LA on the 4th of July, another ride on I-10
You could see the fireworks lighting up the sky
No idea where life would lead back then.
Now I live at the ocean, west as I could go, that’s a ride west on the 10
The skies out here have the best golden glow
No idea I’d end up here back then

All my life, going home meant I-10 west
There have been so many great sunsets
Where we’ll end up who can guess
But I love where I lay my head to rest
I’ve lived my life with no regrets, all in all
It’s been a fine ride west

Sometimes it’s hard to know which way to go
Just trust the road life takes you on
Will lead you home

Where we’ll end up who can guess, but I love where I lay my head to rest
I’ve lived my life with no regrets, all in all

All my life, going home meant I-10 west
There have been so many great sunsets
Where we’ll end up who can guess
But I love where I lay my head to rest
I’ve lived my life with no regrets, all in all
It’s been a fine ride west

Life so far
Has been a fine ride west

Takin’ Me Back
(by Danny St. Pierre)

Thirty thousand feet above the Texas terrain
And I can’t believe that I’m leaving again
Been doing things these days that don’t make much sense
And now I’m living with the consequence

When I close my eyes sometimes, all I see
Is a crystal clear blue sky surrounding me

And it’s taking me back
Down that old dirt road to the Guadalupe riverbed
Taking me back
To that live oak field where my momma lays her head
Back to the faces of the people I knew
It’s taking me back to you

My daddy works the land down south in Fredericksburg
He’s 67 and the man loves his work
But I left that farmhouse I was just eighteen
Left you behind to chase a dream

But I close my eyes sometimes, and sounds come over me
Of a three-piece bluegrass band singing harmony

And it’s taking me back
Down that old dirt road to the Guadalupe riverbed
Taking me back
To that live oak field where my momma lays her head
Back to the faces of the people I knew
It’s taking me back to you

So I do believe it’s time for me to split this scene
Get on back home where the air smells green
There’s nothing left for me in this here town
Too many strangers trying to hold me down

And it’s taking me back
Down that old dirt road to the Guadalupe riverbed
Taking me back
To that live oak field where my momma lays her head
Back to the faces of the people I knew
It’s taking me back to you

It’s taking me back
Down that old dirt road to the Guadalupe riverbed
Taking me back
To that live oak field where my momma lays her head right down now
Back to the smiling faces of the people I knew
It’s taking me back to you

Back to you
Back to you
Back to you
Back to you

Luck and Gravity
(by Julia St. Pierre)

Girl I was so sorry when I heard the news
You were moving out again
My heart ached thinking of you seeing the clues
He wasn’t sure, so it had to end
So you pine and you wish, that he’ll come around
Love you like he did before
Girl you gotta wake up and know it’s true
That you can’t make somebody care about you

They were best friends, hangin’ all the time
Then she wouldn’t return a call
It started out slowly, didn’t see all the signs
Then one day no longer friends at all
So you pine and you wish That she’ll come around
Love you like she did before
Girl you gotta wake up and know it’s true
That you can’t make somebody care about you

It’ll come to you
Love is luck and gravity
It’ll come to you
Like an apple from a tree
It’ll come to you
Love is luck and gravity
Don’t waste your time worrying about who it’s gonna be
Cuz love’s just luck and gravity
Love’s just luck and gravity

Two worlds turning
Might become you and me
Two worlds turning
Might not be meant to be

Everyone was so sorry when they heard the news
We were moving out again
My heart ached as I saw the clues
You weren’t sure so it had to end
So I pine and I wish, that you’ll come around
Love me like you did before
They told me girl you gotta wake up and know it’s true
That you can’t make somebody care about you
No you can’t make somebody care about you

It’ll come to you
Love is luck and gravity
It’ll come to you
Like an apple from a tree
It’ll come to you
Love is luck and gravity
Don’t waste your time worrying about who it’s gonna be
Cuz love’s just luck and gravity
Love’s just luck and gravity

It’ll come to you
It’ll come to you
It’ll come to you
Love is luck and gravity
Love is luck and gravity

Love Who You Love
(by Julia St. Pierre)

Saw a woman and a man, kissing as they meet
Took no time to understand, that what they have is sweet
Saw a man and a man, together on the street
Took no time to understand, that what they have is sweet (what they have is sweet)

Love who you love
What’s all the fuss?
Love who you love
Whom I to judge
Who loves who
Who loves who
Love who you love
Love who you love

Saw a girl and a girl, dancing to the beat
The wisdom of a pearl says they’re who they want to be
When the dark and the light come together as they meet
It’s a sunrise in our sight and it’s beautiful to see, beautiful to see

Love who you love
What’s all the fuss?
Love who you love
Whom I to judge
Who loves who
Who loves who
Love who you love
Love who you love

Real love is no small thing, you know how it makes you feel
When somebody makes your heart sing, others don’t get to decide if it’s real
We all deserve a long life together, we all deserve lots of sunny weather
Who you love’s no business but your own

Love who you love
What’s all the fuss?
Love who you love
Whom I to judge
Who loves who
Who loves who
Love who you love
Love who you love

Meant To Be
(by Danny St. Pierre)

I, I remember as the music played you were twirling in the sun
I wasn’t thinking past just that moment or what we would become (you)
You, you made it easy to drop my guard and open up my heart
You helped me realize that true love lasts, it can’t be torn apart

Meant to be, meant to be
There was nothing else to do except to see it through
We were meant to be

We, we share a love most people look for but just can’t seem to find
It’s far too precious to let it go or leave it all behind
You, you never doubted that we’d be together each and every day
I never knew what real love was until it went away

Meant to be, meant to be
There was nothing else to do except to see it through
We were meant to be
Meant to be, meant to be
If we only knew then how this story would end
It was meant to be

This life is short and it’s just hard to know
We’ve found each other and we won’t let go

Meant to be, meant to be
There was nothing else to do except to see it through
We were meant to be
Meant to be, meant to be
If we only knew then how this story would end
It was meant to be

All I Ever Wanted
(by Julia St. Pierre)

I didn’t need it to be everything, didn’t need you to move in
Just wanted it to be something, to see behind that wicked grin

All I ever wanted
It’s simpler than you think
All I ever wanted
You might miss it if you blink

I think I made it pretty easy on you, and yeah, we really had some heat
Just wanted it to be something, sad it ended so bittersweet

All I ever wanted
It’s simpler than you think
All I ever wanted
You might miss it if you blink
All I ever wanted
Besides my favorite Prince song on repeat
All I ever wanted was someone to hold my hand
When we walked down the street

Don’t engrave the silver darlin’
Don’t need to be that sweet
Don’t need to meet your mama honey
To make my life complete

All I ever wanted
It’s simpler than you think
All I ever wanted
You might miss it if you blink
All I ever wanted
Besides my favorite Prince song on repeat
All I ever wanted was someone to hold my hand
When we walked down the street
All I ever wanted was you to hold my hand
As we walked down the street

All I ever wanted
All I ever wanted
All I ever wanted

Pretty is as Pretty Does
(by Julia St. Pierre)

I know you have that long blonde hair
And your eyes sparkle when you flirt
I know you have that nice tan skin
And you look real good in a skirt
I know your teeth are pearly white"
And your hair is done just so
The lips the nails always look right
It’s very clear how far you’ll go

But are you pretty? My mama always told me
Are you pretty? When I said I wish I was
It’s not how you look that matters
Pretty is as pretty does

Pretty is as pretty does
When you want to show the world some love
What’s outside doesn’t count because
Pretty is as pretty does

You want folks to think you care
That there’s no one you’d ever hurt
There’s some nice people out there
You’d just as soon see in the dirt

You’re not so pretty.  My mama always told me
Not so pretty. When I said I wish I was
It’s not how you look that matters
Pretty is as pretty does.

Pretty is as pretty does
When you want to show the world some love
What’s outside doesn’t count because
Pretty is as pretty does

Truth and beauty are not one in the same
You have to rise above how you were raised
Show some light to others
In what you do and what you say

There was once a simple girl
Who never did quite turn your head
She met all with open arms
And a real kind word instead
She will always be the prettiest
Cuz her eyes they always shine
She has a smile for everyone
No matter color or bloodline

Cuz she is pretty. My mama always told me
She is pretty. When I said I wish I was
It’s not how you look that matters
Pretty is as pretty does

Pretty is as pretty does
When you want to show the world some love
What’s outside doesn’t count because
Pretty is as pretty does

You’re not so pretty and she is pretty
You’re not so pretty and she is pretty
Pretty is as pretty does

You Know Where to Find Me
(by Julia St. Pierre)

You are young and life will throw you curves you cannot see
And when you think you’ve lost your mind, instead just think of me
You will go down many roads, you won’t believe them all
You’ll be good ‘cause I love you, I’ll help you if you fall

As the path of life keeps turnin’ and you don’t know where you’ll be
You know where to find me
You know where to find me

I know that you have had it hard with what life’s handed you
Right when you think that all is lost, just know I’ll see you through
It’s time to leave sadness behind and move in towards the light
You’ll be good ‘cause I love you I’ll help you in your fight

As the path of life keeps turnin’ and you don’t know where you’ll be
You know where to find me
You know where to find me

Our life has seen its ups and downs and many tears were cried
We’ve come back around to where we were and stood the test of time

As the path of life keeps turnin’ and you don’t know where you’ll be
You know where to find me
You know where to find me

In the next room or coming home soon
You won’t have to wait long to see
You know where to find me
You know where to find me
You know where to find me

Coming Around
(by Danny St. Pierre)

She was standing in the doorway
Smiling at the boys in the band
I gave her a look and that was all it took
I knew I was gonna be her man

So I walked over and I whispered
Something sweet in her eyes
She rolled her eyes as she said goodbye
Yeah man she made it crystal clear

She used to think she had it all figured out
But she ain't never met me

She'll be coming around, coming around
Coming around to me
Coming around, coming around
Coming around to me

So the very next time she saw me
I was playing with the boys in the band
By the look in her eyes I knew she changed her mind
She knew that I was gonna be her man

She used to think she had it all figured out
But now she's starting to see

Yeah she's coming around, coming around
Coming around to me
Coming around, coming around
Coming around to me

She always thought that she'd be fine on her own
She knew what to do to bet what she needs
But now she's sure, she's got no doubt
That it's gonna be me

And now she's coming around, coming around
Coming around to me
Coming around, coming around
Coming around to me
Coming around, coming around
Coming around to me

You Steady Me
(by Julia St Pierre)

Like the sails on a tall ship, you steady me
Like the beam on a new bridge, you steady me
Like the brace on an old tree, like the wind can calm the sea
You got a cool head, and you always steady me

In the morning when we wake, you steady me
At the end of a long day, you steady me
In an unexpected year, every day it’s oh so clear
You got a cool head, and you always steady me

That day you took my hand as we sailed across the ice
I knew you’d do the same in other ways throughout my life
I can’t believe we got here but every day I know it’s true
I won’t fall, I’m steady cause of you
Steady cause of you

When I miss my mama, you steady me
When I miss my daddy, you steady me
You know all their history and now you’re my family
You got a cool head, and you always steady me

That day you took my hand as we sailed across the ice
I knew you’d do the same in other ways throughout my life
I can’t believe we got here but every day I know it’s true
I won’t fall, I’m steady cause of you
Steady cause of you

You allay my fears
You wipe away my tears
We laugh about the years
I’m so glad that you are here

That day you took my hand as we sailed across the ice
I knew you’d do the same in other ways throughout my life
I can’t believe we got here but every day I know it’s true
I won’t fall, I’m steady cause of you
Steady cause of you

I can’t believe we got here but every day I know it’s true
I won’t fall, I won’t fall, I won’t fall I’m steady cause of you
I won’t fall, I won’t fall, I won’t fall I’m steady cause of you

KEEPING ME ALIVE
(by Tom Petty)

They say love is a thing of the past
That these days nothing ever lasts
This old world is moving too fast

Well sometimes we ride around
We play the radio up loud
If I was sad, well, I'm happy now

And it feels so good to know
I got you where you belong
Here in my heart, right by my side
Honey you're getting me by
Yeah you're keeping me alive

I got a job, I work hard
These days the money don't go very far
It's hard enough keeping gas in the car
But sometimes we ride around
We play the radio up loud
If I was sad, well, I'm happy now

And it feels so good to know
I got you where you belong
Here in my heart, right by my side
Honey you're getting me by
Yeah you're keeping me alive

And it feels so good to know
I got you where you belong
Here in my heart, right by my side
Honey you're getting me by
Yeah you're keeping me alive

Yeah you're keeping me alive
Yeah you're keeping me alive
